Down 2 lbs (10.5 total). 75 ml/dL glucose. 2.3 mmol/L. Happy about those numbers. 1 full mmol jump in ketones -- wonder if it was the strenuous exercise? Morning glucose only been lower once in the 8 days of testing. Or was it the fact that I got to bed at a decent hour and got about 8 hours of sleep?
I have another body composition test on Friday morning which will be the official "end" of the experiment -- however I will continue testing ketones every morning for the indefinite future and testing blood sugar as desired due to the fact that I find it so incredibly interesting too see how my body responds to different foods and activities at different times of day -- really feel like it's giving me a strong handle on my body and how it works.
The Livin' La Vida Low Carb blog is also extremely helpful with all of this stuff...
Energy level is fine mid-day. Did some resistance training at lunch. Haven't done "heavy" squat in a couple of weeks -- thought my tolerance wouldn't have disappeared already...it has.
I warmed up then did 10' EMOTM (every minute on the minute) of 2 squat with 185# and 5 strict hang pull up. Made it through five rounds...after the fifth is when my upper-inner legs started to twinge a little bit. I did the 6th round and just did 1 squat. Did rounds 7-10 as 10 dips/5 pullups. So total of 11 squats with 185#, 40 dips and 50 strict pullups. Wonder if my tolerance was lowered or if there was some strength issue with the experiment -- like maybe I went a little too heavy for a VLCKD? Dunno...blood sugar was 80 about 30 minutes after I finished. Interesting that it didn't spike after resistance training like it did yesterday after an hour of basketball.
Good Calories, Bad Calories is really enlightening. On chapter 3...
