SHL -- Saturday (TMI alert)


Interesting sleep tonight. I went to bed with girls at 9:15 PM. They had lots of artificial light and "human face" stimulation tonight and took about 1.5 hours to finally fall asleep. I woke up at 1:15 AM and was up until around 4:30 AM. I finally got out of bed around 3 AM and read and was starving so see the "Eat" section for what happened next... 

PM -- put orange glasses on and watched Parenthood with Jenn at hospital. Was asleep by 11:30 PM. Tired after the poor night of sleep last night.


3:30 AM -- couldn't sleep and think a large part of it was because my body was craving something -- or possibly wanted me to eat some carbs to help me defecate? Because I ate the rest of the Paleo Apple Parfait (apples cooked in honey, ghee and vanilla with crumble topping made of almond flour and ghee topped with cream made from coconut milk and cinnamon and ghee). I haven't eaten anything CLOSE to being that sweet in about a month and a half. As soon as I finished it my constipation ended. Interesting -- that maybe my body needed something to help that process along and woke me up to eat it? Don't know if that's possible. I'm glad I had a Paleo treat available rather than eating ice cream or cake or something else. All natural, real foods. Lots of honey but I haven't had fruit, much less honey, in weeks.

8 AM -- ACV in water

10:30 AM -- coffee with butter, cinnamon, 2 raw egg yolks and MCT oil (post-workout) 

5 PM -- last steamed salmon filet I made yesterday. Lamb stew meat out of the bone broth I made today. 2 small yellow squashes, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 container of sliced mushrooms (all steamed), raw sheep cheese, 2 oz baking chocolate


Rode bike 5 miles to Cross Fit Boom's open gym time. I warmed up then did 3x5 bench press with 200 pounds. Feel strong -- surprised me a little bit. 

Then 25 walking lunges, 20 hollow rocks, 20 supermans,

25 walking lunges, 20 hollow rocks, 20 supermans, 

30 walking lunges, 15 hollow rocks, 15 supermans

20 walking lunges, 10 hollow rocks, 10 supermans

3 x 10 hollow rocks, 10 supermans

5 hollow rocks, 5 supermans

Total of 100 lunges, 100 hollow rocks, 100 supermans

Stretched including hanging from bar for :30 and squatting for :30 seconds. 

Rode bike back home -- about 10 miles total on the bike. 


Today I'm grateful for: 

  • Abel James retweeted me
  • Nana and Papa coming to visit
  • Grant Coomes at CrossFit Boom allowing me to workout at his box
  • Went and got Jenn donuts for breakfast
  • found out today that Hunter will be born on October 25 (barring any sort of emergency or unforeseen circumstance before then) 

Played in the dirt with the girls this morning.  


Didn't check glucose or ketones this morning. Figured they were high b/c of my 3:30 AM meal. Not worried about it. The last time I had an early morning eating episode like that it was ice cream and pizza and it took me 2.5 months to get back "on track." We'll see if there's any difference to having actual, real human food as my "splurge."
